We are proud to support Brook:the sexual health and wellbeing charity for under 25s. By being part of Scarlet Ladies, you’re supporting Brook’s work, ensuring that all young people have place to go to talk sex when they need it most.
Brook has been at the forefront of providing wellbeing and sexual health support for young people for over 50 years. The charity’s clinical services in local communities, education programmes, training for professionals and advocacy work mean that young people are better equipped to make positive and healthy lifestyle choices. In 2016/17 Brook supported more than 235,000 young people.
What we do for Brook
From May 2018, we’re donating EVERY annual membership joining fee that we receive to Brook Charity: that’s £40 per new member. So when you join Scarlet Ladies and invest in your own sexual empowerment, you’re helping a young person to do the same.
For every referred membership – that is, when one of our members introduces a friend to Scarlet Ladies, and their friend becomes a member too – we will offer to donate an extra £40 to Brook, in their name.
Every six months, Brook staff, volunteers and young people join the Scarlet Ladies community to share the story of their work and the difference that our support has made. According to Brook figures,
- The UK continues to have the highest teenage birth rates in Western Europe
- Under 25s are statistically more likely to have an STI than the rest of the population
- 1 in 20 children in the UK have been sexually abused
- Mental health problems affect 1 in 10 children and young people
Join us for our next Brook night to connect with the Brook team and discover the difference you can make to the lives of young people.
What you can do to help
Donate directly to Brook
By making a one-off donation, or becoming a regular donor, you will help Brook to continue its vital work working the most vulnerable young people. No donation is too small to make a difference.
Thanks for helping us to help Brook support young people on their journey to sexual health, wellbeing and empowerment.
